If I am absent for my Mumbai University exam, will it considered to be ATKT?
Author: Phagu Mahato Post Date: 19 Apr 2023 If you are absent for your Mumbai University exam, it will not be considered as ATKT (Allowed To Keep Term) as you have not attempted the exam. ATKT is awarded to students who have attempted the exam but have failed to clear it.
If you miss your exam due to any reason, such as illness or any other unforeseen circumstance, you should inform the university authorities as soon as possible and provide appropriate documentation to support your absence. The university may then allow you to appear for the missed exam at a later date, usually during the supplementary exams.
However, if you miss the exam without a valid reason or fail to inform the university authorities, you may be marked as absent, and it will not be considered as ATKT. In this case, you will have to reappear for the exam during the next regular exam cycle or the supplementary exam.
It is always recommended that you appear for your exams as scheduled and ensure that you are well prepared to avoid any last-minute issues. If you do face any difficulties, you should approach the university authorities and seek their guidance and support.
Author: Umesh Post Date: 14 Apr 2023 ATKT (Allowed to keep terms) is a facility in which the student is allowed to study in next semester even if he fails in the current semester. This facility is given up to a maximum of 4 subjects and if the student fails in more than that then he drops in that semester and will not be allowed to study in the next semester. ATKT deals basically with the backlogs or arrears of subjects that a student has to clear in the next semester or till the end of the grace period which is generally 2 years after the scheduled duration of the course. That means a student can complete a 4 year course even in 6 years by clearing all his arrears and settling the ATKT process.
But if a student does not appear in the exam then it is a drop in that semester. However if a student can produce a genuine reason like medical or some tragedy in the family then college administration can take a view for allowing him ATKT status and allowing to sit in next semester. But for that they would also be seeing the internal assessments during the semester in which the student did not appear in the exam.
