Is a BHMS from abroad valid for medical practice as a homeopathic doctor in India?

Yes, there is no such restriction that a doctor obtaining a BHMS degree from abroad cannot continue his practice in India. However, he has to register his name either with the Medical Council of India or the National Board of Examinations so that he is permitted to have a license to practice as a homoeopathic doctor in India. The process might require passing an exam or completion of an internship in India. Apart from that the BHMS doctor from abroad has to meet other eligibility conditions prescribed by the Indian Government for his subsequent practice.
The following are the eligibility conditions for a BHMS doctor having secured a degree from abroad -
1) The aspirant must hold a recognized medical qualification from abroad.
2) He has to clear the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination conducted by the National Board of Examination in India.
3) The Internship clearance - There are some states in India which have compulsory internship periods in an approved institution.
4) The BHMS doctor would be required to speak the local language easily to understand the patient's complications.
5) Local contacts with the people would enhance his chances of meeting more patients. It would depend on the intellectual level of the doctor.
