A person can become a private guide as a freelancer and undertake. Tour guides will guide a group of visitors through a new attraction. These guides will know the area and can let the visitors know about that attraction.
Travel and tourism is a big industry in India attracting many travellers from various countries across the globe. Many tour and travel companies in India provide services to tourists. Such companies appoint guides and send them with the tourists to guide those tourists. These jobs can be in a particular area or a general guide. The guides will be appointed at a particular monument or location and people visiting that monument will be taking the help of the guide to know more about the monument. Some guides are general guides who accompany tourists and help them travel across the country and visit important places.
A person who starts his career as a guide can change to other jobs also if interested based on the experience gained. A guide may get promoted to higher posts like tour designer, facilitator, tour manager etc. It all depends on the interest the individual shows and the way he works within the organisation.
