The kind of politics we see on campuses of institutions like the JNU, Jadavpur University, Delhi University, Presidency College Kolkata and many other science, arts and commerce colleges across the country, are not to be seen in any of the campuses of BITS Pilani. The focus at BITS Pilani is more on education and activities that help in the all-around development of the students. In general students at BITS Pilani are very career conscious and ambitious. As a result, the students there tend to keep themselves aloof from campus politics.

Similar scenarios I have seen in the IITs, NITs and many other private engineering colleges like VIT, SRM and a lot more. However, the absence of active politics in the BITS Pilani campuses does not mean that there are no associations there. On the contrary, the institute has a number of associations and clubs based on their activity. There are clubs and associations for social activities like blood donation, cleanliness drives, environment protection, poverty eradication amongst nearby villages, and so on.

Then there are clubs for sports, scientific activities, cultural activities, personality development, stock market trading, entrepreneurship, business skills, communication skills and so on. Most of the time, the members and heads of these clubs are elected through elections. For these elections, students nominate themselves, campaign, and make their manifestos. Thus we can see that even though there is no active politics in BITS Pilani, the students do get exposed to some level of political activity involved with the elections to different associations and clubs. Just like in political groups, they have to lead the group, direct the students to various activities, resolve issues and so on.

During my college days I was one of the aspirants to study in BITS Pilani. Tried few time to get in through various sources but no success. It was amazing time when I visited there and had number of good and sad experiences.

Campus politics at BITS Pilani, a prominent Indian educational institution, has been a subject of debate and evolving policies. The institution has had a history of student engagement in various forms, including student organizations and associations. However, the specific regulations regarding campus politics may vary and are subject to the policies set by the administration.

BITS Pilani has established a structured system of student governance known as the Student Union, which provides a platform for student representation and participation in decision-making processes.

While the Student Union focuses on addressing student needs and organizing activities, the scope and extent of political activities, such as political parties or ideological movements, may be regulated or restricted. The precise regulations regarding political campaigning, affiliations, or active involvement in political activities may be outlined in the institution's code of conduct or guidelines.

It's essential to note that campus policies and regulations can change over time, and it's advisable to refer to the most recent information and official sources provided by BITS Pilani for accurate and up-to-date details regarding campus politics and student engagement on their campus.
