Author: Vandana Post Date: 14 May 2023 Starting in 1998, the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) is an autonomous university, and, as per the official UGC website , IIIT-H is a Deemed-to-be University. It is not wholly private, though. It has been formed through a collaborative not-for-profit public-private partnership (N-PPP) with support from the State Govt.'s Ministry of Human Resource Development and is a well-known ICT (Information and Communication Technology) educational institution. Awarded an 'A' Grade by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2011, IIIT-H gives a lot of emphasis to not just professional education, but also quality research. It has its own Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) that encourages students and faculty to bring up new innovations and is a platform for the incubation of start-ups.
Financial assistance for course fees: You may be hesitant to apply for admission to IIIT-H due to the course fees that tend to be higher than other well-known engineering and technology institutions. However, you need to keep in mind that this is likely due to it being autonomous and not getting any grants from the Government. If you are looking for some funding to pay the course fee, you can apply for the IIIT-H Special Financial Assistance Scheme (ISFAS) that works on the basis of a payback system (after graduation) with the funds not only contributed by the institute but even alumni pitching in.
Campus student notes: IIIT-H is a residential Institute and it is mandatory for you to stay on the campus, with provision for separate hostels for boys and girls. There is no Wi-Fi facility in the hostel rooms, but you can get it in the computer labs during the day. Although it would be great to have your own laptop, you would not need it in your first year as everyone has access to computer-based spaces on the campus.
What you must know before applying for admission to IIIT-H: For UG admissions, IIIT-H considers only the JEE(Main) score and the scores of the entrance test and interview, but admissions may also be given to meritorious students based on their performance in the Class XII Board exams, in Olympiads, and other prestigious exams. Admission to PG programs is based on the common entrance test.
As per the facts shown in the mandatory disclosure on the official website, as of now, IIIT-H has not yet received accreditation from The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) but is planning to apply for it. More importantly, out of the 38 courses currently offered by IIIT-H, only these programs are approved by AICTE-

Author: DR.N.V. Srinivasa Rao Post Date: 12 May 2023 Indian Institute of Information Technology is an institution first of its kind in our country. All the remaining IIITs in India came into existence after this institute only following the same concept of IIIT, Hyderabad. I had been there on campus and the ambience is excellent.
IIIT, Hyderabad has come into existence in the year 1998. It is neither Private nor public. It is an autonomous institute founded as a non-profit public-private partnership (N-PPP) organisation. The Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of Andhra Pradesh and NASSCOM are the joint founders of this institute. The state government granted land and buildings.
NASSCOM, (The National Association of Software and Service Companies) is an Indian non-governmental trade association, The main focus of this organisation is on the technology industry of India. This organisation was established in 1988, It is a Nonprofit organization.
IIIT, Hyderabad is recognised by UGC, approved by AICTE, and accredited by NAAC (Grade A).
