As far as my knowledge goes, such a requirement is not there. One of my relative's sons went to the USA and did his MBA there. They asked him for a letter of recommendation from the present organisation but not anything related to sponsorship. They never asked him for any paper regarding financial sponsorship.

The eligibility criteria for admission to MBA abroad are-
1. A bachelor's degree in Business or any other related subjects. The percentage requirement will vary from college to college and country to country,
2. Many countries ask for professional experience of a minimum of 3 to 5 years. But in some countries, there is no requirement for work experience.
3. Proficiency in English language is a must. TOEFL and IELTS are the language proficiency tests. Students must clear at least one of these two.
4. The documents required are a copy of the resume, a letter of recommendation, official transcripts, a current photo for ID, a valid national passport, and a visa.
5. Many universities conduct entrance tests and students who clear this examination will be eligible for admission. GMAT or CAT are not essential. Some universities are exempt from writing entrance tests based on their GMAT or CAT rank.

It is the responsibility of the students to make their own arrangements for funds, as far as I know. The university never asks for any letter regarding the arrangement of funds, I think.
