Yes, it is the essential condition and in no circumstance, is there any escape from this norm. To secure admission to the BAMS course, candidates must have passed class twelve from a recognised board in the science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 50% to 60% aggregate marks. They will have to appear on the NEET test and their scores must fit the scores decided by the admission committee for admission to the BAMS Course.

NEET is conducted by the National Testing Agency also known as NTA and is held once a year. It is a highly competitive examination and hence the aspirants need to concentrate on their studies with full devotion. They would be required to meet the NEET cutoff score so that they can be considered for admission to the said course.

However, there are some states such as Karnataka and Punjab where admission to the BAMS course can be secured through negotiation with the chairman of the admission committee. They need to pay a premium fee for admission depending upon the college and the inclusion of the bargaining element.
