In India, the eligibility criteria for government jobs vary based on the organization and the position. Generally, a master's degree in business administration (MBA) is accepted as a valid qualification for government jobs that require a management degree. However, the acceptance of an online MBA for government jobs in India depends on the specific organization's policies.

Online MBA programs are becoming increasingly popular in India, and several top universities and institutes offer online MBA programs. These programs are designed to provide students with the same curriculum and learning outcomes as traditional MBA programs. Therefore, in most cases, an online MBA is considered equivalent to a regular MBA degree.

However, it is essential to note that some government organizations may have specific requirements regarding the mode of education. For instance, some organizations may require candidates to have a regular full-time MBA degree or a degree from a recognized institute. Therefore, it is advisable to check the eligibility criteria of the specific government organization for which you are applying.

To summarize, an online MBA degree is generally accepted for government jobs in India, provided it meets the specific organization's eligibility criteria. It is advisable to check with the organization before applying for a job to ensure that your online MBA degree will be accepted.

According to my Research and Reading Experience, an online MBA degree is acceptable for government jobs in India as long as it was earned from a reputable university. In terms of academic rigour and recognition, online programmes from authorised universities are seen as being on par with traditional programmes. The government of India recognises degrees from accredited institutions.

Numerous colleges in India, including some of the most famous, provide accredited online MBA programmes. These courses are offered online through platforms that include various learning tools and resources, and they follow the same curriculum as their on-campus equivalents.

Working professionals who want to advance their knowledge and abilities while juggling work and personal obligations are particularly drawn to online MBA programmes. Online education has improved in accessibility and acceptance, notably for positions in the public sector, as a result of the development of technology and the Internet.

Nevertheless, it is crucial to remember that depending on the position and degree of employment, government job requirements may change. A general MBA programme might not adequately prepare candidates for some government employment in these situations, further training or certification may be necessary.

Full-time degrees or master's degrees are the major requirements of Central Governments, State Governments, Autonomous Bodies, etc.

The same is also, applied in the case of Master's Business Administration (MBA) where MBA is an essential qualification according to the job profile requirement.

One of my friends doing service in the field of sales in MSME (Central Government Organization) had completed a full-time two years MBA after taking two years service break and now re-joined the same department as he completed his MBA.

Online MBA is treated as part-time and the Government departments require only a full-time MBA degree. The private in-service persons can take benefits to boost their career in the private sector only.
