"A friend of mine was worried about the cost of attending Vellore Institute of Technology" (VIT). He was concerned that as a student from a lower-income household, he would be unable to pay the tuition. But, after doing some investigation, he discovered that VIT provides many scholarships and fee concessions for students in his situation.

He applied for the VIT-Endowment Scholarship, which assists students from low-income households with financial aid. He was overjoyed to find that his family's financial position had resulted in a full tuition fee waiver.

VIT also offers merit-based scholarships, such as the GV School Development Programme (GVSDP) Scholarship for top-rank holders and the VIT-Sports Scholarship for outstanding athletes, in addition to the VIT-Endowment Scholarship. My acquaintance was surprised by the variety of scholarships offered as well as the university's dedication to assisting students from varied backgrounds.

All in all, my friend had a pleasant experience with VIT's scholarship programmes and was appreciative of the financial aid that allowed him to continue his studies without fear of financial hardship."

There are no reservations in VIT. No reservations on caste basis or on financial status basis. People who possess the required qualification have to attend the entrance test(VITEEEE). Based on the marks obtained in VITEEE seat allotment will be made.

There are some scholarships available for the students who got admission to this institute. In these scholarships, some are based on the economical condition of the family. Smt. Rajeswari Viswanathan Memorial Scholarship is one such scholarship. This scholarship is for poor students having merit. The details can be obtained from the scholarship page of their website ( https://vit.ac.in/).

In addition to the above, there is a scheme called STARS (SUPPORT THE ADVANCEMENT OF RURAL STUDENTS). This is to encourage poor students from Rural areas. The details can be seen on the STARS page of the website of the institute.
