The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) has its main campus in Kolkata with centres at Delhi,
Bengaluru, Chennai and Tezpur with their own individual campuses. ISI offers Bachelor's, Master's, Diploma, and Certificate programs as well as Research Fellowship programs. Admissions are currently open for the 2023-24 academic session, and applications will close on 10th April 2023.

The admission procedure is to first register with a valid email ID and mobile number. Scan and keep ready the following for uploading-
1. Passport-size photo (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) of 100-150KB in jpeg or jpg format only.
2. Signature in black/ blue ink pen on a white background that should be cropped to a 3 cm X 7 cm box, of 50-100KB size in jpeg or jpg format only.
3. Mark sheets/grade cards for all school/college/university exams that you have taken, beginning Class 10 or equivalent. These should be less than 200KB in size and in jpeg or jpg format only (the scan should be done in 100 dpi only).
4. If applying through a reserved category, the SC/ST/OBC-NCL and disability certificate, as applicable.
5. In case you are employed, you can give details of employment, but this is not mandatory.
6. In case you are applying for a waiver from the written test, then upload the relevant document as applicable. That is, the INMO Certificate issued by NBHM for B.Stat./B.Math. courses, and the GATE scorecard for M.Tech. (CS/CrS) courses. These should be less than or equal to 200KB in size, with a resolution that is less than or equal to 100dpi, and only in jpeg, jpg, bmp and pdf format.
7. After submitting all the details in the online application and uploading the required documents, pay the online application fee through Net banking or with a credit card/debit card.
8. Once you pay the fee, you will get a Transaction Details message that confirms you have submitted the online application successfully been submitted. There is a Dashboard page where you can see the unique Order/Payment ID of your application. You will also receive a confirmatory email from the payment service provider within a day. It is advisable to keep a printout of the computer-generated receipt for the fee paid, this receipt is also to be seen on the Dashboard.

Additional notes-
1. You can select up to three cities as your preference for the ISI Admission Test.
2. It is a good idea to use the 'Preview and Confirm' button so that you can edit any information that is incorrect or that you have missed out on because if you are hasty in clicking on the 'Confirm and Submit' button and find mistakes afterward, there is no option to edit and correct the mistakes.
3. It is suggested to read the very helpful and detailed guide that has been provided on the ISI official website before you proceed with the online application process.
4. In the case of admission to the ISI Ph.D. program if you are having an externally-funded
research fellowship with the thesis to be submitted to another institution, you can send your application with the relevant documents to the respective Unit Head at any time of the year, and stay updated about the selection process and schedule for each round of the selection by checking the website of the concerned Unit.

Application fee for ISI admisssions for 2023-
1. For male candidates in the General category: Rs.1500/-
2. For female candidates in the General category: Rs. 1000/-
3. For all candidates applying in any of the reserved categories, namely, OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/EWS: Rs. 750/-.

ISI Admissions for Overseas Candidates-
If you are applying for admission to an ISC academic program as an overseas candidate, then it is mandatory to appear for the ISI Admission Test at one of the Test centres in India. There is no centre overseas. Also, it is required for you to send your Application ID by email to the Dean, mentioning in the subject line 'Overseas Application for Admission (year)'.

Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is a public university. It is an Institute of National Importance by the 1959 act of the Indian parliament. It offers full-time UG, PG and Short-term courses including B.Stat, B.Math, M.Stat and MS among others. Besides, the institute also offers various research fellowships and certification programmes.

How to apply

Candidate must visit official website before applying. First register yourself at the admission portal on the website.Select the course and the centre where that course is available.Submit the required details.Submit scanned photograph, signature and required documents Pay Rs. 1500(male candidates) or 1000(female candidates) or 750 for SC/ST/OBC-NCL application fees via credit card/debit card/net banking.

1.Scanned copy of passport if not Indian.
2.Mark Sheets/Grade cards or equivalents starting from Xth standard.
3.valid caste (SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL) and/or disability certificates if and as applicable

Admission procedure

Admission to the institute will be done based on marks obtained in the entrance exam and the interview process. For UG courses the candidate should have a valid score in 10+2 examinations. The candidate should have a relevant degree if they wish to apply for PG courses. If the candidate has a valid GATE score then they are exempted from giving the entrance exam. Admission for PhD courses is also done on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examinations.

Various full-time/part-time academic programmes are being offered at the Graduate, Post Graduate, Professional and research levels at the Hyderabad location of the Indian Statistical Institute also.
In Hyderabad, the following are the courses offered.

1. Master of Science(MS) in Quality Management Sciences MS(QMS) Full Time 2 Years. Candidates who completed their graduation with mathematics as one of the subjects can apply for this course.
The institute will conduct an entrance test followed by an interview for selecting the candidates for admission. The written test will be in mathematics and at the level of the UG syllabus. Multiple choice questions and short answer questions will be there in the test. Candidates working in some organisations can join this course if their organisation sponsors them. But they should also follow the same procedure for admission.
All candidates admitted will be paid a stipend and contingent grant for their study. But sponsored candidates will not be paid any amount.

2. JRF in Quality Reliability & Operations Research (QR&OR) Full Time: The maximum duration allowed for this is 6 Years.
Eligibility Criteria
(i) A good academic record with M Tech/ME/MS/M Phil or an equivalent degree in Quality/Reliability/Operations Research, or
(ii) a good academic record with M Stat/M Sc/MA or equivalent.
degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Physics with Mathematics as a compulsory subject at the graduate level, or
(iii) a BE/B Tech or equivalent degree in the above subjects with outstanding results.
Candidates who fulfil the above criteria have to attend a written test followed by an interview.
Candidates who got admission will be paid a stipend and contingency grant.

3. Part-Time Certificate Course in SQC: Part-Time 6 Months. This is for working professionals with a minimum of one year of experience. There will be a selection test for this course also.
