The following are the specific details in this regard-
Eligibility: 1. 'Single Child' Girl student who got admission to the first year of a PG course in a recognized University or PG college. The girl student should be the only child of her parents) 2. Available only for full-time non-professional Master's Degree courses and not available for distance education stream. 3. Age up to 30 yrs as at the time of admission to first-year PG
Tenure: The scholarship is available for the two years of the course. The amount of the scholarship: is Rs. 36200/- per year. Selection: Selection is made based on UGC norms on merit and means parameters. There is a limit to the number of scholarships in a year which may also change. Availability and channelling: through UGC designated agency/Bank. It is given as DBT or direct bank transfer method.

Eligibility
She should be the only child of her parents and should be an Indian citizen. The selected applicant should be studying in the first year of any post-graduation course in a recognized institute. She should be studying a full-time course and does not apply to students who are studying correspondence courses. Her age should not exceed 30 years. She should be studying for a non-professional degree and should be taking regular classes. The deemed universities the student is studying should receive funds from the central government.
Documents required applying for the scholarship
i) Aadhar certificate ii) Joining report iii) Copy of bank passbook iv) Proof of admission for a post-graduation course in an institute recognized in India and should be recognized by UGC v) Birth certificate or 10th std. mark sheet.
Benefits of the scholarship
The student receives Rs. 36,200 each year through bank transfer. Every month, the student receives Rs. 3100. But the student cannot renew the scholarship after 2 years. It covers tuition fees for two years, but the student is not entitled to medical or housing benefits.
How to apply for the scholarship?
The students should visit the official site of https://scholarships.gov.in/, Then, they should find the option 'New Registration' in the 'Applicant corner'. They should accept the terms and conditions prescribed on the webpage and press continue. Enter the details including the bank name, scheme type, gender, etc and press 'Register'. Enter the mobile number to get OTP and enter the captcha. The computer generates a user ID and password. The students should use these credentials to log in. After logging, go to 'Apply for Scholarships' and a form should be filled out. Then upload the required documents. Then click the button Submit after verifying the information. Then, find the option 'Fresh application' under 'application submission'.
