M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore was started in the year 1962. It is offering many courses at under graduation level, post-graduation level and doctorate level also. Today this institute is very well known in South India as one of the standard institutes in this part of the country. My distant relative's son did his B Tech from this institute and now working in a senior position in an MNC. His daughter also did her engineering at this institute only and got a good placement on campus placements itself. Recently I met her and she told me that more than 90% of the students will be getting placement in campus placements itself.
This college is now an autonomous institute and the Institute is having academic autonomy for all its Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs starting from the academic year 2007 – 2008. This institute is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University.

- B.E. Courses:Admissions are done based on a qualifying examination based on which the merit list is determined. The name of the respective examinations is KEA /COMEDK. Candidate should have passed 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry as the compulsory subjects and can have optional subjects such as Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Electronics for pursuing engineering courses at MSRIT. Also, he or she should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in case of the general category and 40% marks in the case of reserved classes in the qualifying examination.
- B.Arch:Candidate should have passed the 10+2 examination with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have scored an aggregate of 50% marks with English as a core subject forming the aggregate.
