Tips

The following are some of the tips for better performance in the institute.
  1. Download the syllabus of the examination. Go through the syllabus and plan your preparation based on the syllabus.
  2. Make a timetable and follow the same. The timetable you make should be tailor-made for you and it should not be the same for others also. If a candidate is good at chemistry, he can devote more time to other subjects so that he can do well in those subjects.
  3. It is better to keep a small break during the study hours and it is important to keep a little big break when you change the subject of study.
  4. Focus on the subject you are studying at that particular time.
  5. One need not wait till the last month for preparation. Many students who are keen to get a seat in this institute will start their preparation at least 7 or 8 months before the examination. They should go for revision in the last month
  6. Dedicate some time to answering old papers and also some model papers so that you get a better understanding of the methodology you have to follow while answering the questions. Time management will also become easy.
  7. Use NCERT books of classes 11th and 12th and start preparing well in advance.
  8. If you are studying as a team, be sure to see that no time is wasted in unnecessary discussions.
  9. Have sufficient sleep and keep your mind pleasant
  10. Eat well. see that you are maintaining good health.
  11. If you have access to any of the students who are presently studying in this institute, talk to them, and ask what methodology they followed. Even you can clarify the doubts about the subject also from them.
  12. Understand the basics clearly. Never hesitate to get your doubts cleared. You can take the help of teachers in the school or seniors who are good at the subject.
  13. It is better to get into a good coaching centre and follow their advice for preparation.
  14. Be confident and concentrate on studies.

BITS Pilani conducts a test known as a BITSAT to scrutinize the candidates for their ultimate admission to this institute. The BITSAT examination emphasises that the aspirants must have clarity of the basics of the subjects incorporated in the test. The questions set by the examiners are brainstormed based on the relevant formulas and the conceptual applications.

The tips suggested below could be immensely helpful to aspiring students in cracking the BITSAT test-
1) To get a score of 350+, which could be a threshold score for securing admission to this institute is not so difficult to get the same if the aspirants have prepared well for the JEE main with a little bit of hard studies since the course coverage of the both the examinations are more or less identical.
2) The candidates should not ignore NCERT textbooks in the course of preparation for the BITSAT test since all the NCERT textbooks provide the learners with the sound basics to understand the lessons with the full transparency of the subject - materials such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
3) The formulas related to Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry must remain in their mindset at all times in their examination - session. Hence thorough practice is needed to apply the formulas fitting to the situation.
4) For the effective management of the schedule of the ensuing test, the candidates must have a copy of BITSAT published by the Arihant Publication and the contents included therein must be understood clearly. It has been designed in such a way that the aspirants would be able to understand the several intricacies associated with the different chapters with ease. This book must be treated as an inseparable part of their examination - preparations.
5) Instead of guessing the questions, the students must adhere to the correctness of the answers. In that way, they can achieve the minimum target of 300 + essentials to crack the test.
6) The aspirants should maintain a calm mood during the exam session so that they will not make the wrong attempts by getting diverted from their concentration.
7) The toppers of 10+2 of the different state- boards can approach the admission - committee to avail of the alternative route of direct admission designed for such candidates.
