Jalandhar is having many engineering colleges which are imparting quality education to students. In my opinion, we can't single out a college as the best college. The best will vary from subject to subject and course to course.
The following three institutes can be considered the best in my opinion.
1. National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar: This institute was established in the year 1987 and obtained the status of National Institute of Technology (Deemed University) in the year 2002. The NIRF ranking of the institute in the year 2022 is 52 in the 'engineering' category and 85 in the 'Overall' category.
There are 18 academic departments, The institute offers UG, PG, doctoral courses and also PG Diploma courses in various fields of engineering. B Tech admissions in this institute will be on the basis of rank obtained in JEE Mains.
The placement chances are good for the students of this university as good companies like Amazon, Infosys, Microsoft, Flipkart etc will conduct campus interviews in this college and offer employment.
2. DAV University, Jalandhar: This university was established in the year 2013 and is a part of the DAV educational organization of India. This college is having UGC recognition. The university is offering UG, PG and doctoral studies in various fields. DAV University admissions will be based on the entrance test. This university is also having a good record of placements for students through campus interviews.
3, I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar: This institute was established in 1977 as Punjab Technical University. Later the name was changed to IK Gujral Punjab technological university in the year The university is offering UG, PG and Doctoral courses in various disciplines.
This university is having more than 10 campuses throughout the state of Punjab. The overall NIRF ranking is 3rd in State, 33rd in research, and 54th in the Universities category. The admission may be on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying examination and/ or entrance test. The university has good contacts with various corporates and the placement record of this university is also good.
This list is not exhaustive. I suggest the students go through the rankings and reviews available for various colleges and they should select the best college based on the discipline they are planning to join.
