The Travel and Tour guide's salary and allowances are always variable subject to the location of the place of the candidate. He has great earning potential provided he has the following qualities -
1) The aspirant should have a pleasant personality and can converse effectively with the different clients in their languages. The more he is proficient in a language, the more he will attract the visitors. It means he should be fully conversant in English, Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada or any local language of the place where he is rendering service.
2) He must have the capability of handling a large group of visitors providing them with appropriate answers to queries related to historical significance, religious importance or their queries related to accommodation or food.
3) He must understand the psychology of the visitors and should adjust accordingly.
Salary-
The starting salary for a fresher in this profession in most places such as Agra, Jaipur, Amritsar, Kolkata, Mysore, Bengaluru or any other prominent place is about Rs 15,000/- per month to Rs 18,000/- per month whereas, for the experienced ones having ten years experience in this profession, it can be more than Rs 50,000- depending upon the involvement in this job.
