VIT Vellore or BITS Pilani - which is a better for engineering?

Choosing the better option between the two reputed engineering (private/deemed) institutions is a challenging task for engineering aspirants indeed. The crucial choice eventually is to be determined by an individual on his/her own preferences, educational requisites, career aspirations, etc. The BITS Pilani (Birla Institute of Technology and Science) and the VIT Vellore (Vellore Institute of Technology), both have unique features and expertise in the areas of engineering and technology programs. Both have national reputations and high rankings in India and across the world considering students' participation globally. It is absolutely necessary to make research with respect to their curriculum, infrastructure, teaching faculties, funding/scholarships, career prospects, and so on to decide which would be the better choice.
Regarding the BITS Pilani, the excellence of which is at par with the IITs (even more than IITs, which follow reservation policies), admission is based purely on merit through BITSAT with a 100% transparent ranking list declared with marks. Seats are allotted only for the deserved but not for the reserved and all have been equal under the prestigious BITS Pilani institution. BITSAT with a negative ranking is tougher than the VIT entrance with no negative marks and the candidate can write whatever he knows. This is the utmost prerequisite as far as education is considered, I would suggest. Because of this aspect, I would prefer BITS Pilani. The candidate is independent to choose his/her professor and courses of their choice irrespective of their core curriculum. They can attend CS sessions if they are interested even though they are from EEE/Mech/ECE or so on. Attendance is not compulsory. Productivity is the basic requirement and BITS Pilani is the pioneer in inculcating start-up culture among the wards. Many BITSians have their own start-up businesses.
Next coming to the VIT Vellore, admissions are processed through the entrance exam in general, however, certain seats have been allotted as per management quota with intellectuality in a true sense stepping down to some extent. Moreover, the number of seats has increased in VIT every year. The BITS despite, focuses mainly on quality education but not numbers.
Infrastructure-wise, both BITS Pilani and VIT Vellore have state-of-the-art facilities, renowned faculties, various research-oriented programs, and great career prospects with efficient placement cells.
To conclude, I would suggest that the engineering aspirant needs to research these institutions completely and consider the above-mentioned factors while making a choice of the college that would be the best option for the career. It is advisable to communicate with the alumni and the present academic students to have an overall perception of these universities. Their experience matters as well.

Both VIT and BITS are well-known institutes in our country. Both institutes are having good infrastructure. But if you have to compare these two institutions my first preference will b BITS. Personally, I have interacted with faculty members of BITS and the quality of the research they do is world-class. Their laboratories and workshops are very good with all standard equipment and the students are having the advantage of working with those instruments.
When we go through the reviews posted on the internet by different students about these two institutes, we will find many reviews favouring BITS over VIT. In my opinion, the following are the points that make BITS a world-class institution-
1. The criteria for admission are purely by merit and the rank obtained in their entrance test BITSAT. No reservations and no management quota. BITSAT is considered to be very tough and much more difficult than VITEEE.
2. Their admission procedures are very transparent.
3. Some academicians consider this institute on par or even better than an IIT.
4. They give importance to the quality of education but not to the numbers. There is no chance for direct admissions or increasing the seats.
5. The faculty is well-qualified and experienced. They use advanced methods of teaching.
6. The incubation Centre of BITS is a very advanced facility and young entrepreneurs will definitely admire their centre.
7. The hotels and other facilities for the student are very good and the campus life here will be much better.
