EMBA is offered by some well-known and standard institutions in India and abroad. It is purely open to experienced persons. The employer should give a consent letter to the person who wants to join in EMBA course.

My sister's son is working in an IT company. After putting in about 8 years of experience he did EMBA from an established institute from India. Immediately after completion, his employer gave him a promotion with a good hike in his salary. After that, he joined another organisation and got a good pay hike. Presently he is working in a big MNC in a senior position. When I talked to him, he said that EMBA helped him a lot in his career growth. It is one instance where EMBA helped a candidate in his career growth.

The pros and cons of EMBA are as mentioned below-

A) Pros:
1. MBA and EMBA are the same for all practical purposes and there are no differences.
2. EMBA classes or conducted on weekends only. The candidates can continue working while studying.
4. The other students in the class of EMBA will be senior executives only and moving with them will allow us to learn many important aspects of professional life. The problems you face in your work front can be solved easily as you are exposed to many experienced candidates having various new concepts and methodologies. If you discuss it with them they may come out with a very good solution. This will make you popular in your workplace and recognition will come to your work.
5. The knowledge you are acquiring through this course will make you confident and a positive approach attitude will come to you.

B) Cons:
1. The costs involved are higher than normal MBA.
2. Networking opportunities are less when compared to regular MBA students.
3. Exposure to foreign cultures and environments is less when compared to regular MBA students.

The following are the benefits & drawbacks of an EMBA course-
Benefits-

1) The EMBA course has been designed keeping in view of the upgrading the skills of the working managers of the organisations without diluting the standards of such a course. The curriculum formulated is at par with the regular MBA course except some modifications. The curriculum has been formulated containing the exhaustive theoretical knowledges of the management skills coupled together with multiple case - studies of the working conditions of the industries. The working managers of the industries are encouraged to represent the case studies of their organisations how best they motivated their workers to augment best shift- records of production on different occasions. Such case studies ultimately might prove to be the eye opener of the managers having joined from other organisations if they take such initiatives.

2) To achieve this course, a GMAT score is not required. The managers will be inducted to this course subject to the fulfilment of the criteria of the management institutions.

3) While attending the EMBA program, the working managers need not resign from their jobs but need to devote their timings to the week - end classes set by the management Institutes.

4) There is no age limit for the aspirants while doing the EMBA Course. The candidates can share their practical experiences during their class - sessions if the faculties ask for them to come out with their experiences how they have contributed to the record productions on different opportunities.

Drawbacks -
1) Commuting can be an issue for the candidates if there is a heavy density of traffic between the factory - sites and the management college campuses. They will have to make their own arrangements in such a way that they reach their colleges in the scheduled time fixed by the management institutions.

2) The aspirants might face difficulties in case of a switchover of jobs from their parental organisations to the other organisations because of the rigid attitude of the employers that the EMBA qualification is not up to the standards.

3) Sometimes, managing the existing Jobs and continuing the weekend classes for the EMBA courses might not an easy affair for the aspirants since the departmental bosses might not release the working managers due the emergency situations of the plants where the presence of the managers is more important. In such cases, there is no option but to escape their scheduled classes.
