BITS, Pilani, Dubai Campus is offering the following undergraduate programmes.
1. B.E. Biotechnology
2. B.E. Chemical Engineering
3. B.E. Civil Engineering
4. B.E. Computer Science
5. B.E. Electrical & Electronics Engineering
6. B.E. Electronics & Communication Engineering

Admissions will be on the basis of the marks obtained in your 12th grade or equivalent examination. There is no separate entrance test for this campus.

Grade 12/ A Level or equivalent from any recognized state, national or international board. with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry. Other vocational subjects in the qualifying examination will also be acceptable. Biotechnology, candidates without Mathematics in Grade 12 will also be accepted.

The fee is to be paid in Arab Emirate Dinars (AED). The yearly fee is 47K AED. One AED is equal to about 22.5 rupees as of now. So the total fee you have to pay in Indian Rupees will be around 10,57, 500. This is the yearly fee. In addition to the above, you are to pay a caution deposit of AED 5750. The hostel fee is separate

BITS Pilani, a top-ranked private university in India is an 'Institute of Excellence', a status granted by the Government of India. It has four campuses, three in India, namely at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. The fourth is an international campus located in Dubai. Established in 2000, the BITS Pilani Dubai campus is now one of the pioneering institutes in the United Arab Emirates. The student profile at this institute is diverse, with students coming from all over the Gulf states, Africa, South Asia, and Far East Asia, besides the UAE itself. Permitted by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority(KHDA), Government of Dubai, the campus is approved by the UGC and also recognised by the Govt. of India.

BITS Pilani Dubai campus offers a number of higher education programs, be it undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD. Following are the streams in which Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or First Degree programs are offered by the institute.

First Degree Programs


  1. Computer Science
  2. Electronics & Communication Engineering
  3. Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  4. Mechanical Engineering
  5. Chemical Engineering
  6. Civil Engineering
  7. Biotechnology

All the above degree programs are of four years in duration and each one of them has mathematics and hard science as their base.

Who can apply

Following are the eligibility criteria for applying for the First Degree programs at the Dubai campus.

  • Recognised boards
    CBSE, ISCE, Cambridge/Edexcel, IB, MOE (UAE) or any other state, national or international board.

  • Pass in Grade 12/A-levels or their equivalent exam

  • Should have scored a minimum of 60% in aggregate and also in aggregate of physics, mathematics and chemistry/biology/computer science or any other vocational subject. The individual marks in each subject should be 50%. For the course in biotechnology, having studied mathematics in Grade 12 is not essential.

  • Proficiency in the English language is essential, as the courses are in English. Students from non-English medium schools should either have a TOEFL score of 500 in the paper-based or 61 in the internet-based test or an IELTS score of 6.

Fee structure

The fee structure at BITS Pilani Dubai campus is quite competitive in comparison to similar institutions in the US or UK. Following is the fee structure offered by the institute.

One-time fee (To be paid during the admission process)
  1. Application fee - AED 200
  2. Admission fee - AED 2,000
  3. Activity fee - AED 1,200
  4. Caution deposit - AED 5,000

Tuition fee
  1. First semester - AED 24,900
  2. Second semester - AED 24,900
  3. Summer term - AED 5750

Hostel fee
  • Each semester - AED 15,000
  • Summer term - AED 5,200
  • Hostel caution deposit - AED 2,000
  • Facility fee - AED 750 per annum

Transport fee (for day scholars)
  • If residing in Dubai - AED 2,800
  • For residents of Sharjah and Ajman - AED 3,200

In addition to the above fees, students from abroad have to pay the following fee related to visas and insurance.

Visa and insurance fees
  • Fresh visa - AED 2,900
  • Visa renewal - AED 2,150
  • Medical insurance - AED 2,400

The above fees can be paid either by cash, cheque, demand draft, bank transfer or E-payment. Cash payments can be done in AED (Arab Emirates Dinars) or US Dollars. In this respect, one AED is equal to 22 Indian rupees.
