The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course is offered by IGNOU. The course duration is a minimum of 2 years and a candidate will be allowed a maximum of 5 years to complete the course.

As per the brochure released by IGNOU, I understand the course fee is Rs.55,000/- as of now.

No minimum or maximum age is prescribed for getting admitted to this course by this University.

Eligibility:
1, A Post graduate or graduate with a minimum of 50% marks is eligible for admission. The PG or UG can be in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity, Engineering or technology graduates who scored a minimum of 55% marks are also eligible to apply, These graduates should choose Science and Mathematics in B Ed.

2, Teachers who are trained and presently working as teachers in elementary education can apply for B Ed under open and distance Learning mode (ODL)

3. Candidates who did an NCTE-recognized teacher education programme through face-to-face mode can also apply for B Ed (ODL)

4. The reservations apply to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PWD candidates as per the rules of the Central Government applicable from time to time. The minimum prescribed marks for these reserved categories will be less than 5% of the minimum percentage specified for general categories.

5. Kashmiri Migrants and war widow candidates will also be provided reservation as per the rules.

The next batch registration will be announced shortly and the last date will be in December 2023 and the entrance test will be in January 2024. But these dates are tentative and I advise the students to visit the official website of IGNOU to get the latest updates from time to time.

Indira Gandhi National Open University, known as IGNOU, is a public research university established in 1985. It is run by the central government of India and is famous for distance education. It is the largest university in the world. It offers various programs like UG, PG, certificate, and diploma courses.

Course duration

The B.Ed. course duration is a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 5 years to complete the course.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Candidates should have passed any bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in Science/ Social Science/ Commerce/ Humanities with at least 50% aggregate or have a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology with a specialization in Science and Mathematics with a minimum of 55% aggregate.

2. Trained in-service teachers in elementary education.Candidates who have completed an NCTE-recognized teacher education program through face-to-face mode.

3. The reservation and relaxation of 5% marks in minimum eligibility will be provided to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy layer)/PWD candidates as per the rules of the Central Government.

4. Reservation for Kashmiri Migrants and war widow candidates will be provided as per the University Rules.

Admission procedure

Candidates can fill out the online application form through the university's website. Aspirants must register first, after which they can fill out the application. After providing the necessary academic and other information, students must pay a few for the application form admissions for the July 2023 session. It is open now, and students can apply for all programs until August 31, 2023, at https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/. The registration fee for the IGNOU BEd Admission Entrance test is INR 1,000. Application fees can be paid by Master, Visa, or Rupay card (Debit, Credit, or Net Banking).

Course fee: Rs. 55,000/- is the approximate fee for the IGNOU B.Ed course and students can pay the fee yearly.

The next registration will be announced very soon. December 2023 will be the last date and the next entrance test is scheduled on January 2024.
