When does admission to VIT 2024 start?

It is good to know that you are keen to join the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). Before we talk about admission to the academic session coming up next year, I hope you are aware that VIT has multiple campuses. Other than the main and most well-known one at Vellore in Tamil Nadu, there are VIT campuses in Chennai in the same State, in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), and in Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh).
There is also the International Centre for Education and Research (ICER) in Bengaluru (Karnataka). While the admission process is common to all, namely, an online registration and application procedure, as well as the admission schedule for a course that is offered across campuses, the dates vary as per the course that you are keen to pursue, that is, undergraduate, postgraduate, or research programs. Also, some of the courses may not be offered at all the campuses. Note also that the ICER Bengaluru campus offers only PG courses which are offered in collaboration with international universities, so this campus has its own separate admission schedule.
Coming to the admission dates for VIT-2024 courses, as I mentioned, it depends on whether it is a UG or PG, or research program. Let's consider a few of them to know the approximate schedule as per what I have noted about the previous academic session of 2023.
VIT-2024 Engineering Admissions: The application form for admission to UG engineering programs is likely to be available in the first or second week of November 2023. There is sufficient time given by VIT to submit the application, right up to the month of the entrance test, namely, Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE)-2024 that is mandatory for B.Tech. admissions. You have the provision to appear for a mock test in February 2024 so that you are well-prepared to appear for the entrance test which will likely be conducted in the last two weeks of April 2024 (after 15th April).
In the case of M.Tech. programs, you can expect the announcement for admission possibly in January 2024 and you will be given about two months to submit the application. You have to appear for the VIT Masters Entrance Examination (VITMEE) which will be conducted in April 2024, roughly around the same time as VITEEE.
Results of the afore-mentioned entrance tests are generally announced in May, followed by admission counselling sessions, and seat allotment. Fees have to be paid in June, and the academic session generally begins in August.
Applications for admissions to the 2024 Integrated M.Tech. program will likely start in February 2024 and end in May, with payment of fees in June, and the academic session starting in August 2024.
VIT-2024 MBA admissions: As per the details of the 2023 schedule, you can expect the online admission process for admission to the MBA programs for 2024 to begin in the last week of November this year, with the closing date to submit applications likely to be in the first week of March 2024. Within about 10 days of the closing date, a list of candidates eligible for admission will be released, and if you are one of them, you are required to appear for a personal interview (a Group Discussion may also be scheduled). Once you get a seat, you must pay the advance course fee in April 2024, and then the balance fee within a week. The starting dates of the 2024 academic session for the MBA program will be announced after all these processes are completed.
VIT-2024 M.Sc. admissions: In the case of this postgraduate science course, the application form will likely be released in February 2024 as per what was the schedule for 2023, with the closing date and seat allotment in May 2024. Fees have to be paid by the due date in June 2024, and the academic year for M.Sc. programs will start in August 2024.
VIT-2024 research programs admissions: Online applications for Ph.D./Direct Ph.D. programs will likely be available in the last week of January 2024 with the Vellore Institute of Technology Research Entrance Examination (VITREE) scheduled in April 2024. You are required to appear for a personal interview (this may be online) the following month, with results declared within a few weeks. You then have to select a Ph.D. Guide within a month or so, and pay the fees by the due date.
