Author: DR.N.V. Srinivasa Rao Post Date: 09 Aug 2023 You might have completed your graduation before you completed your Company Secretary program. The Company Secretary course is a very good course. All Limited companies in Private, as well as public sector companies, are required to appoint a full-time company secretary to see that their company will function within the framework of rules set by the government from time to time. They are the compliance officers. So with this qualification itself, you will get good jobs and will have good career prospects. So I feel it is better to search for a job and settle in the job. After that, you can think of doing any of the following courses based on your interest.
1. Master of Business Administration (MBA): This is a very useful course for company secretaries and that will add weight to their resume and chances of getting a job in a good company will be very high.
2. PG course: You can also think of doing post-graduation in the subjects which you have studied in your graduation.
3. CA/ICWA: Some companies prefer appointing a single candidate for CFO and company secretary posts. For such posts, a professional qualification in accountancy like CA or ICWA will be very useful for the candidates. You can think of doing one of these two courses.
4. Certification Course in computer applications: These days it is very essential to have computer literacy and also some advanced knowledge in this field. So one can think of doing this course.
5. PGDBM: PG Diploma in Business Management is also a very good area for these people. Either Finance or HR specialisation can be studied in this and that will add value to the individual.
