Will IA like ChatGPT really take over the education sector and replace teachers?
Author: Ajay Gupta Post Date: 29 Apr 2023 At the moment ChatGPT is a hot topic and everyone is talking about it. I don't think it will replace teachers and humans will always remain relevant in the education sector. ChatGPT uses just existing information available on the internet to create a unique answer to a question. The answer ChatGPT writes is stolen from existing resources available on the internet without the consent of the concerned author. I am totally against the use of such software because it hinders creativity and limits the thinking capability of a person.
Once people will start depending on such software for content creation, they will lose all their creativity and nothing unique will be written in the future. Education is about constantly exploring the unexplored and software like ChatGPT is just exploring the already available information on the internet. It is an act of plagiarism that should be avoided for the betterment of the human race.
I have personally used ChatGPT and haven't liked it much because it gives general answers which don't have any nuances of human creativity. It may be a good thing for software engineers who are coding but for content creation or education, it is not a viable option for me.
Author: Drupad Madhavan Post Date: 28 Apr 2023 No, I can personally affirm that AI like ChatGPT cannot replace teachers and take over the education sector. ChatGPT stands for Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer. In simple words, ChatGPT is nothing more than a chatbot that has been fed appropriate information and also has been programmed to give responses in 'natural language'. Of course, students may prefer ChatGPT as it is free to use and gives them the answers that they need in their own time. A chatbot cannot compete with a human who has years of experience in teaching. I mean, at least not yet and not chatbots like ChatGPT. If they create an actual free-thinking artificial intelligence, then it might take over teachers and the education sectors and might even take over the world!
Author: Geeta Post Date: 28 Apr 2023 I think it is unlikely that AI like ChatGPT will completely take over the education sector and replace teachers. While AI can provide assistance and support in certain areas, such as personalized learning and grading, teachers play a crucial role in facilitating social and emotional development, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Additionally, the human element of teaching is difficult to replace, as teachers offer mentorship, guidance, and motivation to their students.
