XAT Entrance Examination 2024: A Comprehensive Overview

The total duration of the XAT exam is 130 minutes with a total of 100 marks. Additionally, there is a General Knowledge (GK) section with 20 reading comprehension questions, but these questions are not included in the final score. They serve as a test bed for the exam-conducting body.

Xavier Aptitude Test is a prestigious test known at the national level for testing the abilities of the aspirants interested in the MBA Course conducted by XLRI. On qualifying for the test in both the modes written &Viva, the candidates are inducted into the Xavier School of Management and other associated management institutions.

There exists a difference between the CAT and XAT test as indicated below -
1) The former test attaches importance to overhauling the assessment of the candidate's ability whereas the latter test might take a longer time to answer Reading Comprehension Passages making the XAT test somewhat tougher.
2) Though both the patterns follow identical syllabi theoretically there is a little variation in terms of sections. In the CAT test, there are three sections whereas the XAT test carries five sections.
3) The difference between the two tests can be noticed in sectional time limits of the sections, marking schemes and the number of questions between the two tests.

Preparation tips for XAT 2025 -
1) The aspirants can go in for either self-coaching or with the support of online/ offline coaching with premier institutions such as the Time, Career Launcher, IMS, MBA Guru, Endeavour, 2 IIM.com etc
2) The aspirants must have strong basics of the subjects included in the syllabus.
3) The candidates need to identify their weak areas and should put enough time into overcoming their difficulties in the related areas.

5) The aspirants should prepare a list of topics as per the syllabus and should strive hard to improve on each topic.
