About the University It was established in the year 2003 by the State Government of Chattisgarh and named after the former Vice President of India and former Chief justice of supreme Court Prof. Md.Hidayatullah. It is the sixth in the series of National Law schools in India, the others include Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Jodhpur. The University offers L.L.B, M.L and also B.A LLB (Integrated course) as courses of study to the students. Admissions are made to the Graduate and Post-graduate courses based on the score obtained in Common Law Entrance Test (CLET) conducted on all India basis.
A moot court hall with well furnished infrastructure is available to test the advocacy skills of Law students and also to guide them how to plead in a mock court proceedings. Very few Universities/colleges in India have such facilities. It has good infrastructure such as computer Laboratory, Digital Library and sports facilities. It is a residential University and recognised by the Bar Council of India.
