Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) is a public state university which has the authority over engineering education in the state of Karnataka. Headquartered in Belgavi (or Belgaum), VTU has regional centers in Bangalore, Gulbarga, and Mysore. All the engineering colleges in Karnataka except the nationalized ones are coming under VTU.

VTU offers UG, PG, as well as Research degrees through its various areas of studies.

Various courses at VTU

i) B.Tech as well as M.Tech (Civil, Biotechnology, Automobile, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Industrial & Production, Industrial Engineering & Management, Manufacturing Science & Management, Biomedical, Instrumentation, Medical Electronics, and Chemical/Polymer Engineering), M.Tech is also offered in Textile Technology.

ii) B.Arch

iii) MBA, as well as MCA.

PG & Doctoral courses are offered at VTU main campus at Belgavi, and regional campuses at Bangalore, Mysore, and Gulbarga.

Admissions, VTU

PG admissions will either be based on GATE (for M.Tech courses only), or PGCET (PG Common Entrance Test, fr M.Tech, MBA, and MCA courses).

B.Tech admissions can either be on the basis of KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) or JEE mains.

B.Arch admissions will be based on NATA.
