About the University Graphic Era University is located at Dehradun and earlier was known as Graphic Era Institute of Technology which came into existence in 1993. It was given Deemed University status on 14th August 2008 by Govt. of India. It is well known for its academic excellence in engineering, computer applications, management and allied sciences. It has a track record of producing good number of well rated Engineers, Managers, Technocrats and Entrepreneurs.
The University is surrounded by National Park, Dehradun and offers a creative and learning environment to the students. The scenic beauty of Dehradun all round the year gives a pleasant atmosphere. There are three wings in the institute viz., School of Engineering and Technology, School of Management Studies and School of Allied Sciences which takes care of the Doctoral programs in Physics, Chemistry, mathematics and Environmental sciences.

Infrastructure and facilities The various departments of the University are provided with latest equipment and good infrastructure which facilitate the training and teaching of students in various streams. A well-equipped sophisticated computer centre, good laboratories, library and conference hall along with internet facilities makes the institute campus of high standards. Hostel facilities to cater to 1500 boys and girls separately with modern environment is also offered.
