The Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University is one of the main universities in Andhra Pradesh to present and legitimate colleges related to Law and Legal education in the state. This university was established in the year 2008 on 30th June to meet the new standards of education. Further, on 4th August 2008, the then cabinet ministry approved the Law Bill of the Andhra Pradesh University which replaced the Ordinance. This was performed by the State Legislature.
The university has a main campus at Vishakhapatnam and two branches at Kadapa and Nizamabad. This university was previously known as the Andhra Pradesh Law University. The change of name was done on 22 of May 2012.
