The Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University - KKHSOU was established under the KKHSOU Act of 2005 and was recognized by the Distance Education Council by DEC/Misc/07/5957 on 03/10/2007, published in the Assam Gazette, recognized by the University Grants Commission vide its letter No. F.9-13/2008(CPP-I) on 18/03/2009 and accredited to award degrees under the Section 22 of UGC Act of 1956. The Head office of the university is located at the Housefeld complex at the Last Gate, Dispur of Guwahati district. The University believes in the motto of Education beyond barriers
