Bankura University is a public university established in 2013 at Bankura, West Bengal. It has four campuses at Purandarpur, Puabagan, Mithila, and Chhandar in Bankura district and offers admission to undergraduate, postgraduate as well as PhD courses.

Mainly, the university has three schools -
1. School of Social Sciences : Departments of History, Philosophy, Political Science, Education, Law (only offers LLM) and Social Work.

2. School of Literature, Language, and Cultural Studies : Departments of Bengali, English, Sanskrit, and Santali.

3. School of Science : Departments of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Physics and Chemistry departments are in Puabagan Campus.
