Andhra University is one of the best universities of Andhra Pradesh, India. The university is located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh Initially it was working in collaboration with Madras University in 1920's. Soon after its inception, the university has grown up with tremendous speed. Andhra University is accredited with NAAC A grade inn April 2002. Also it became the first university of India in 2006 for getting ISO 9001:2000 Certification.

It offers 313 courses in Management, Arts, Commerce, Science & Technology, Law, Engineering fields to the students. Andhra University admission notification releases in the month of May/June. It provides distance education for the personnel who are working or who cannot attend the classes regularly. Andhra University exams are conducted twice in a year. Andhra University library has a large volume of books and journals to provide the knowledge to the students. It has spread across a whooping 422 acres of land with 121 buildings. It caters the educational needs of five coastal districts viz., Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Vizinagaram and Srikakulam of Andhra Pradesh. Ragging is taken seriously by the administration. Anti ragging committee ensures that there is no ragging activity in the vicinity of university campus. NCC and NSS programmes are available for the students. Andhra University encourages sports and extracurricular activities to a great extent. Andhra University faculty is one of the best faculties of Andhra Pradesh. Hostel facility is available in the university for the students. Andhra University campus has 23 hostels for men. More than 3000 students can be accommodated in the hostel. 10 separate hostels are there for women. Andhra University placement record has been good till now. Andhra University is a public university located at Vishakhapattanam, Andhra Pradesh, in the year 1926. There are two campuses, South (has Arts, Humanities, and Science departments) as well as North (has Engineering college). The university has colleges in five districts, Vishakhapattanam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam. Andhra university has a distance education wing, too.

Courses offered & Admissions, Andhra University

Various courses are offered in university at its College of Arts & Science, College of Engineering, College of Science & Technology, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences. UG courses are only offered at its affiliated colleges.

Course details, Andhra University

Engineering admissions will be based on Andhra University Engineering Entrance Test (AUEET). It has been done for B.Tech as well as integrated 6year (B.Tech+M.Tech) programs. Like any engineering college in India, M.Tech will be open for candidates with a valid GATE scores, and rest of the seats will be offered on the basis of merit as per the rules of Andhra University.

B.Arch admissions will be based on NATA entrance.

B.Ed admissions will be open to UG holders and will be based on Andhra state's Education Common Entrance Test. LLB admissions will be filled based on candidate's performance in AP LAWCET (Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test).

Andhra University also conducts its own entrance, AUCET (Andhra University Common Entrance Test), for admission to its various courses.
