University of Kerala (UoK) was established by the then Maharaja of Travancore, Sri Chithira Thirunal Balaramavarma in 1937, as one among the first 20 universities in India. Headquarters of the university is in Thiruvananthapuram, capital of the state of Kerala. The university offers several undergraduate, postgraduate, as well as PhD studies through its various faculties of study.

The university also has specialized centers of study in specialized areas like Nano Technology, Bio Informatics, Learning Difficulties, Kerala Studies, Women Studies, Gandhian Studies, as well as Sree Narayana Studies. UoK have also established 10 University College of Teacher Education (UCTEC) offering undergraduate programs in Education, and 8 University Institutes of Technology (UIT) offering B.Sc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, as well as BBA.

Apart from this, there are several colleges which are affiliated to UoK. Most of the educational institutions towards the southern side of Kerala will be affiliated to UoK.

UoK Admissions 2019

Undergraduate admissions are open for candidates who have completed their 12th or equivalent. Except for B.Tech admissions at University College of Engineering Kariavattom which is the only engineering college under UoK, admissions to all undergraduate programs will be based on the marks obtained by the candidate for 12th or equivalent. Application for the course of choice can be submitted online through the University of Kerala website.

B.Tech admissions will be based on the Kerala Engineering, Architecture, Medical (KEAM)entrance exam.

M.Tech admissions will be open to candidates with a valid GATE score. Other candidates can seek admission through UoK M.Tech admissions.

B.Ed admissions will be based on separate application for candidates who have completed their degrees based on 10+2+3. Application have been made online, after which university will be publishing rank-list for admission.

Admission to PG courses have been made online. Eligible candidates will be awarded admission based on their performance in their qualifying examination, i.e. graduation marks.
