Named after the great Indian freedon fighter Veer Kunwar Singh, Veer Kunwar Singh University is a public University located at Arrah, in the state of Bihar, and ranked among the top Universities of the state.

The university offers UG, PG, as well as Doctoral degrees through its various faculties of study.

1) Faculty of Social Sciences - Departments coming under this faculty are, Geography department, Sociology department, Public Administration department, Psychology department, Political Science department, History department, and Economics department. All these departments offer UG, PG, M.Phil, PhD, as well as Integrated UG/PG/PhD, D.Litt & D.Sc.

2) Faculty of Commerce - Known as Commerce & Business Management department offering M.Com, as well as PhD and D.Litt in Commerce. MBA is also coming under this department.

3) Faculty of Humanities - Departments of English, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Philosophy, Prakrit & Jainology, Sanskrit, and Urdu & Persian comes under this department. All these departments offer UG, PG, M.Phil, PhD, as well as Integrated UG/PG/PhD, D.Litt & D.Sc.

Admission details, Veer Kunwar Singh University

UG admission will be based on an entrance conducted by the University along with counseling; PG admissions will be based on a university level entrance test, marks obtained by the candidate in his / her UG exams, coupled with a counseling session; PhD admission will be based on pre-PhD course work, and aptitude in research methodology and computer applications - However candidates having NET/JRF/CSIR or equivalent will be exempted from this Pre-PhD screening.
