Nirma University (NU) is a private university under Nirma Education & Research Foundation (NERF) located at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The university offers various courses through including doctoral degrees through its different departments.

Courses & Admission details at Nirma University (NU)

Institute of Technology :

Offered courses are,
MCA (Master of Computer Application).

B.Tech, M.Tech, and PhD in the areas of Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

Admission to 35% seats to B.Tech courses will be based on JEE main performance of the candidate. 50% seats will be based on ACPC depending on GUJCET (Gujarat Common Entrance Test). The other 15% of the B.Tech seats are NRI seats, offered on the basis of NRI quota.

M.Tech courses are of 2 types, M.Tech regular and M.Tech by Research. M.Tech by Research admissions are open to B.Tech holders who have at least 3 years of R&D experience post B.Tech. M.Tech regular courses will be open to candidates with a valid GATE score. M.Tech seats vacant after the admission of GATE candidates will be offered to others through an all India entrance test conducted by Nirma University.

Institute of Law

Offered courses are,
5 year integrated B.Com / B.Com LLB courses, to which admission will be strictly based on CLAT (Common Law Admission Test).

LLM admissions will granted based on either CLAT-PG or All India PG Institute of Law Nirma University Entrance Test (only for LLM seats vacant after admitting CLAT-PG candidates. LLM admissions are only open to those with a 5 year integrated or a 3 year LLB (after UG).

Institute of Management

Courses offered are,
5 year integrated BBA MBA.

2 year full time MBA, as well as MBA in Family Business & Entrepreneurship.

PhD (full time, as well as part time).

5 year integrated MBA (BBA+MBA) admissions will be based on Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test.

2 year MBA admissions will be based on valid CAT scores. However foreign nationals/ Indian origin candidates / candidates from Gulf and South East Asia countries can apply if they have a valid GMAT score.

Admission to 2 year MBA in Family Business & Entrepreneurship will be based on an entrance test conducted by Nirma University coupled with a GD & PI..

Institute of Architecture & Planning

Courses offered are,
B.Arch admission criteria is similar to B.Tech admissions (15% by ACPA on the basis of GUJCET, 35% based on candidate's NATA performance, and 15% NRI quota).

Other than this, the department also offers an International Fellowship Program in Architecture & Planning which is open to 4th & 5th semester students from the disciplines of Design, Architecture, Planning, and other related areas.

Institute of Pharmacy

These are the courses offered by this institute -
B.Pharm, M.Pharm (in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis), and Full time as well as Part time PhD.

85% of B.Pharm seats admission will be finalized by ACPC depending on GUJCET. Admission to rest 15% seats will be on NRI quota.

M.Pharm admissions will be open to candidates with a valid GPAT score. The vacant M.Pharm seats after admitting GPAT candidates will be open to non-GPAT candidates based on their performance in an all India entrance test for the same by Nirma University. Every M.Pharm student will get a stipend.

Institute of Commerce

Offers B.Com (Hons.), where admissions will be based on marks obtained by the candidate in their 12th examination or equivalent.

Institute of Science

Offers M.Sc (in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology), as well as PhD.

Admission to these M.Sc courses will be based on an all India entrance for the same by Nirma University.

Design Department

Offers B.Des (in Industrial Design, Communication Design).

Admission to B.Des courses will be based on the candidate's performance in UCEED (UG Common Entrance Examination for Design).

PhD admissions

PhD admissions at Nirmal University will have to clear an entrance test conducted by the respective department of the Nirmal University. However, candidates with a valid NET/SLAT/GATE/GPAT scores will be exempted from this entrance test.
