Also known as National Institute of Technology Surat (NIT Surat), Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) is an Institute of National Importance in India, located at Surat.

1) Applied Chemistry department - 5 year integrated M.Sc Chemistry, B.Tech Engineering Chemistry.

2) Applied Mathematics & Humanities department - 5 year integrated M.Sc Mathematics, and also responsible for the subjects related to Mathematics & Humanities in the B.Tech curriculum.

3) Applied Mechanics department - Responsible for teaching the subjects of Engineering Mechanics & Strength of Materials, subjects related to Structural Engineering & Geo-technical Engineering to Civil Engineering students. PhD related to the areas of Structural Engineering also comes under this department. Courses fully under this department are, M.Tech (in Structural Engineering, Soil Mechanics & Foundation Engineering).

4) Applied Physics department - 5 year integrated M.Sc Physics, B.Tech Engineering Physics.

5) Chemical Engineering department - B.Tech, M.Tech, PhD in Chemical Engineering.

Admission details, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT)

B.Tech as well as 5 year integrated M.Sc admissions will be through JEE mains on the basis of JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority for admissions at IIT/NIT/other Govt. Funded Technological Institutes of India).

M.Tech admissions will only be open to candidates with a valid GATE score.

PhD is offered for engineering subjects and admissions will be granted on the basis of academic performance as well as an interview conducted by the respective department at NIT Surat.
