Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) is a public university established in 1966 and is located in the historical city of Madurai, Tamil Nadu. It has been named after Shri. Kamaraj, former Chief Minister of Madras state. The university offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, as well as doctoral studies through its various departments and centers.

Admission process at MKU is as per the course. Admission to MBA, MCA, M.P.Ed, M.Ed courses will be through an MKU entrance test; This is applicable to some specializations in M.Sc and MA. Admission to other postgraduate courses will be based on the marks obtained for graduation.

To integrated PG courses like BBA+MBA, admission will be based on the basis of marks obtained in 12th or equivalent.

M.Phil, and PhD admissions will be open to candidates with a masters degree. M.Phil, and PhD aspirants will have to sit for a written test followed by a personal interview conducted by MKU. Candidates with valid NET/JRF/SLET/CSIR/GATE scores are exempted from appearing this written test and personal interview.
