About the University The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda also known as MSU Baroda, one of the well-known universities in the world, is situated in the heart of Vadodara (Baroda) city in Gujarat. It was founded in the year 1949. This University which is spread over 275 acres of land, is an only-residential English medium State University in Gujarat. However, the courses for specialization in Indian Languages namely, Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit, etc. offered by the University are instructed in the respective languages. The University has 90 Departments in 6 campuses (2 rural and 4 urban), 3 Colleges and a number of specialized centres and institutes that offer a wide range of courses from kindergarten to Ph.D./Doctorate.
Faculties and CoursesThe MSU Baroda has 14 Faculties. This University offers a number of programs/Courses in all the major faculties, namely Faculty of Arts, Science, Education and Psychology, commerce, Medicine, Technology and Engineering, Law, Fine Arts, Family and Community Sciences, Social Work, Performing Arts, Pharmacy, Management Studies, Journalism and Communication.

Post-Graduation (P.G) in 98 courses
Post-Graduation in 39 Diploma courses
Under Graduation (U.G)in 88 courses (in 92 subjects with a selection of 347 programmes).
It also offers 11 certificate programmes and 3 Post Diploma certificate programmes
The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda(MSU Baroda) has been accredited as Grade-A University by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognized by Govt. of India under the Indian Universities Act, 1958.
The Academic year normally starts from June and end in May.

Wi-Fi enabled Campus
Library :Smt.Hansa Mehta Library situated on the university campus, the total built-up area of 80,025 sq. ft. is having a fully central Air-conditioned reading room with a capacity of 1100 readers at a time is the Central Library of the University. It is open to readers whole the year from 8.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. except national holidays.
Hostel :The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda or MSU Baroda is facilitated with a large Student Hostel Campus spread over appx.100 acre land having 12 Boys Hostels and 4 Girls Hostels. Total approx. 4000 students can reside with minimum basic amenities individually like bed, cupboard, table & chair in the room and also have dining hall, common hall, Mike etc.
Health Centre :The University Health Centre (UHC) situated in the MSU Baroda Campus provides Medical care to the University students as well as the University staffs and their dependents.
Computer Centre: The University Computer Centre is having more than 2500 computers that connect to the network of university and its campus.
Student Facilitation Centre :Through this single window, students can get all academic and exam related help such as application, registration, admission, fee- related queries and documents, mark-sheet/degree certificates, verification and attestation of mark sheets as required for foreign universities and employers etc.
NCC & NSS units :MSU of Baroda is having 3 units of NCC in which approx.420 male students and 223 female students can register and in the same way 577 male and 443 female students can be enrolled with NSS unit.
Sports Facilities :MSU of Baroda Campus is facilitated with a large Sports Complex, with Indoor and Outdoor sports facilities. MS University's department of physical education (DPE) gives training to students interested, in the various sports. The some of the available facilities in the university sports pavilion are Basketball Court, Cricket Ground, Football Ground, Swimming Pool, Gym, Tennis court, Handball Court, Hockey Field, Kabadi Court, Kho-Kho Court etc.
How to reach MSU, Baroda:The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU of Baroda) is well connected by Road, Railway and Airway. Outstation Bus depot/ stand and Railway station are very near to the MSU of Baroda campus, within 2 km distance, normally it is a walkable distance for outstation students. By Air, the distance between the Vadodara International Airport (BDQ) and the MSU of Baroda is about 5.4 Kms
