Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth is a leading agricultural university in Maharastra, India. This is located at Akola known as the 'Cotton City of India' in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra state. This university came into existence in the year 1969. It focuses its strategy on agricultural education, agricultural research , agricultural extension, plant breeding and foundation seed programmes.

The central campus of Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth is located at Akola. There is another major campus at Nagpur. University started a new campus at Garchiroli, a tribal district. It owns about 3425 hectares of agricultural land which can be used for various agricultural research programs and field trials for seed multiplication programs. The vast agricultural land, natural beauty and serene atmosphere of this university are best suited for agricultural education and research programs.
