International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) is one of the best universities in Mumbai. IIPS was established in 1956, with an aim to develop a high standard of teaching and research in the field of Population Sciences for developing countries in the Asia and Pacific region. The former name of this university was Demographic Training and Research Centre. This is an autonomous institution under the administrative control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. IIPS is the only institute in the world completely devoted to teaching and research in population-related areas. The university got Deemed University status in 1985.

The infrastructure facilities are notable in International Institute for Population Sciences. There is an excellent library with the most recent books on population and related topics. All classrooms are smart classrooms equipped with modern audio-video aids, projectors and high-quality computers. Admission in International Institute for Population Sciences

International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) provides Master of Arts/Science in Population Studies, Master of Science in Bio-Statistics and Demography, Master of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy, Post Doctoral Fellowship, and Master of Population Studies.

Candidates who want to take admission for master's degree programs should have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in India or abroad in any subject with a minimum of 55% marks. The selection to master degree courses will be made on the basis of an online entrance test across India.

The minimum educational qualification for admission to Ph.D. is MA, MSc, or MPhil in population science with 55% marks. Ph.D.admission is based on the scores in the online entrance test, research proposal writing, and personal interview.
