Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology is a state-level agricultural university located in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Established in 1999, the University is the second agricultural university in the state focusing on teaching, research, and extension education. At the time of its inception, the university was known as the Agricultural University, Udaipur. Its jurisdiction is spread over seven districts of Rajasthan, Banswara, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, and Udaipur. This institution is engaged in identifying, designing, developing, and introducing new technologies in the field of production technology for agricultural development.

Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology includes six constituent colleges, Agricultural Research Stations, Agricultural Research Substations, Livestock Research Station, Dry Land Farming Research Station, and Agricultural Science Centers. The university conducts various research activities specifically for the development of crop protection technology, agricultural mechanization, renewable energy sources, post-harvest technology, home science, and animal production. Apart from BTech, the University also offers undergraduate courses in BSc (Agriculture) and Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc).

Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Processing and Food Engineering, Power Systems and Control Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Power Electronics, Irrigation, and Water Management Engineering, Mine Planning, Structural Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering are the MTech specializations. Candidates willing to seek admission to any of the BTech specializations need to have a valid score in Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process (REAP) conducted by Rajasthan Technical University. Admission to BSc (Agriculture) and Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc) courses will be done on the score in the JET examination conducted jointly by Rajasthan Agricultural University (RAU) Bikaner and MPUAT Udaipur.

Students seeking admission to M.Tech programs are selected based on their score in the GATE exam. For M.Sc and MBA programs, candidates get admission based on their performance in a pre-PG entrance test, group discussion, and personal interview conducted by the university.

Admission to Ph.D. is based on the marks obtained in the previous year's qualifying examination. Preference will also be given to applicants who have cleared either UGC Net, JRF, or SET.
