Infrastructure and facilities It has a student-friendly, result-oriented academic environment with a totally Wi-Fi-enabled IT environment. The state-of-the-art facilities in all the Schools and Departments make the students very confident of their achievement in life while coming out of the University.
With three campuses on its fold, the Main Campus is located at Puducherry and the other two off-campuses at Karaikal and Port Blair. The usage of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) in the areas of teaching and learning, research and administration made the institution to move forward ahead of all others ahead of other prominent institutions in the neighboring states.
The University Library known as Ananda Rangapillai Library has a collection of books and study material. More than 2-lakh books and 25,000 e-journals, 7,500 e-books, 36 e-databases and 620 e-thesis are available for reference to students.
Hostel facilities are available for Boys and Girls. For girls, it is totally rent free. The infrastructure with fine laboratories and excellent sports facilities make the students rejuvenate their energy levels to meet the challenges in their career.
Distant Mode of educationThe University has a Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) which offers MBA to cater to the aspirations of students who could not pursue higher education and for the working class through distant mode.
The University has undertaken the corporate social responsibility by involving in various developmental activities in the region by launching Community Radio, adopting villages and conducting social interactive programmes with local bodies, NGOs and the local communities.
How to reach? Puduchhery is situated at a distance of 165 km from Chennai. It is well-connected by road and rail from other southern towns and cities like Bengaluru, Tiruchirapalli, Madurai, Coimbatore and Trivandrum. The Pondicherry University is just 11 Kms away from Puducherry Bus Stand.
