To bend over backwards

To bend over backwards means to be willing to do just about anything to help somebody or get something done. It refers to the fact that bending backwards is not easy and requires a lot of effort.

Sample Usage

1. The photographer did not see why he should bend over backward to accommodate the celebrity for a magazine shoot & give him an evening slot, when the celebrity had himself thrown a tantrum earlier on the issue.

2. The doctor bent backwards to garner funds from top corporate groups to set up the hospital in the village.

3. Everybody in office knew the Sales Manager was always bending backwards to please the boss.
