  • Why I am getting nervous and frightened quite often?

Are you going through the stress of feeling nervous or frightened for reasons that do not call for such a reaction? Do you think you are experiencing a psychological disorder? Are you looking for the right guidance regarding medical assistance in this connection? Follow this thread to get detailed solutions to your problem.

Since last 2 to 3 years I start getting nervous for almost everything. For example, I start feeling nervous while driving when another vehicle crosses me in high speed, when I see traffic police checking vehicles although I have all the current documents, when I want to avoid the presence of some person, when I see my bills to be paid ( electric, school fees of children, other expenses) though I know that I can pay them and so on. During that time when I feel nervous or frightened, my heart beat goes up, I get absentminded and I feel like vomiting. I have just listed some of the moments or issues that make me feel nervous and frightened but there are many other instances too.

Is it any psychological disorder or any other health issues?
    Which Doctor should I visit?

  • By reading the points you have mentioned, I am of the opinion it is anxiety that is causing you this nervous and frightening problem. Normally this problem is known as Social Anxiety Disorder. This is a condition where a person feels anxious or fearful of some or all social interactions. When you meet some people or when you see some people you will become nervous about almost all activities. In these cases, the human body prepares to fight or flee a threat by boosting adrenaline production. In such conditions, the heart begins to beat faster. BP may also go up.
You have to consult a psychiatrist and take his help in the initial stage itself. Otherwise, it will become chronic. Consult a famous Psychiatrist in your area and explain to him all the problems. He will suggest suitable medication and you have to follow his advice.
You can make some changes in your mindset and that may help you in coming out of this problem.
    1. When you are getting the symptoms of this problem, divert your mind from those thoughts and start thinking about some other issue or start reading some comedy book or fiction book,
    2. Develop positive thinking.
    3. Start talking as much as possible with nes persons. Initially you may feel difficult but slowly you will start talking to them freely.
    4. Walk daily some distance
At the same, seeing a doctor is very important.

At first, he will examine your body properly then he will prescribe medicine for you. Besides, you should change your lifestyle. You should develop a hobby and most of the time should spend on a hobby. This way your mind will feel relaxed. You should do entertaining work so that you may come out of anxiety. Spend some time with near and dear friends so that your mind diverts from your problem. Always think positive. It is very important to visit a doctor's clinic from time to time.

  • While going through your submissions, it appears that you are in grip of anxiety and despite your best efforts, you are not able to come out of such weird situations. In medical terms, it is known as Social Anxiety Disorder. Though you are aware that such excess anxieties would not help you better in performing any assignment which are at your hands but still it appears difficult to shed such weird emotions.
There are two ways of tackling the same as given below-
    1) Make a compromise with the current situation and think ahead how best the present assignment could be solved at best with your efforts. Think life is not a dream but we are here to tackle the chores effectively but for this, you have to raise your will power by going through different religious books or by reading the life history of great heroes wherein you could see how diligently, they could sort out their problems. If you develop this habit of such books passionately, it will certainly enhance your will power to handle the situations boldly.
    2) The other way is to approach a reputed Psychiatrist having sufficient experience in dealing with people suffering from anxiety disorders. You would be required to attend multiple sessions as decided by him where the Psychiatrist would have free discussions with you on different issues which he might think fit and note down the pressing issues connected to your sufferings. He would provide you the ways of coming out from the present impasse. He might prescribe some medications if required. To sum up, it would be a useful session for you and ultimately prove to be a turning point of your better life.
    3) Establish Social Contact with like minded friends and share your thoughts and in turn, you will have immense satisfaction with the mutual talks.
    4) Talk with the minor kids and enjoy their innocent talks and in that way, for the time being, your tension will be relieved. Your regular company with them will drastically reduce your unnecessary worries.
    5) If possible, indulge with yoga and pranayama such as Anulom and Vilom, Kapal Bharati, Surya Namaskar etc which would provide you mental and physical strength to keep the worries at bay.

  • This is a condition related to the psychology of the mind and you might require psychological or psychiatric consulting as well as counselling. Please do not get disturbed or worried about it as many people across the globe are suffering from this disorder and with some effort and willpower, one can definitely overcome this deficiency of one's personality. Let us try to understand why we have a fear of one kind or another. The answer is very simple we are many times afraid of our performance and feel that what would happen if we are not able to do a thing successfully. This sits so deep in our minds that for anything in our lives we start to have anxiety and fear which makes us weak and we succumb to its pressure often. It is said that worry and anxiety are the enemies which lie within us and do a lot of harm to us mentally and in due course of time that lead to physical degradation also. These are the elements which drive people sometimes into a depressive state as a large amount of worry and anxiety is the main cause of subdued activities in our lives.
So what is the solution? The solution in fact lies within us only as no external person can remove the worry from our minds. It is something which we have created and naturally, we have to kill this demon sitting inside us. Experts and scholars advise many measures to combat this situation and some of the measures are -
    1. Assess your abilities and capacities to do a job or work and keep yourself limited to that and do not aspire and dream for which you have no control or approach.
    2. Do not cluster your works and take them one by one. Avoid multitasking. Remember it is not everyone's cup of tea.
    3. Everyone in this world has setbacks and failures and you are not alone in this world having difficulties in your life.
    4. Make friends and confide with them about your thoughts and ideas. Good friends are the great stressbusters.
    5. Be with your family and take advice from them in all the matters where they have a say and stake.
    6. Yoga and exercises are said to be a great aid to people in such mental conditions as they make one calm and quiet and it is imperative that one should use those techniques.

    Knowledge is power.

  • For this a doctor can give you medicine to increase your vitality but mindfully if you fear on anything mere medicine cannot do anything. Alternatively you should keep your thoughts always positive and keep on chant mentally some mantras on your religion otherwise chant a mantra,' I am alright, nothing could make me fear'.

  • This is a pure case of Anxiety and you must also be feeling palpitation and sweating during those moments.

The main reason can be known by you only but a few things that you can do is as follows:

    1. Are you working under tremendous pressure or have a lot of stress in your job? If yes, try to bring the stress level down. Start yoga or do some light physical workout.

    2. Get a complete body checkup, sometimes deficiency of a few vitamins also causes anxiety or doesn't let your body cope with the stress. Check especially Vitamin B12 and D3. The deficiency of these vitamins is now very common.

    3. Check your company. See what kind of people surround you, if most of them talk negative or doom or gloom about the world, then start avoiding them. Get in good positive and healthy company of people. Surround yourself with positive energy and once you heal yourself then face your fears head-on. There will always be some positive and negative energy around, just pull yourself in the positive zone whenever you fall in the negative zone.

You alone are not responsible for your condition but many factors contribute to it. As you are not just a physical being but a combination of emotional, mental, and spiritual energy. So start to work holistically on yourself and believe in yourself as this is a temporary phase and you will soon come out of it.

Referring to a doctor for medicines after a complete body test will also help.

    Live before you leave.
