  • Obtaining a B.Tech. Certificate after a gap

Worried about the low score in Class 12 and the time gap while obtaining the graduation degree? Get opinions of our educational experts.

I was in a B.Tech. course and I have a query about the B.Tech. certificate. I was studying in an autonomous engineering college under JNTUK. I had got a low percentage of 55% in CBSE 12th class (intermediate or +2), and I had a one-year gap. Will my low score and the gap create an issue in obtaining the B.Tech. certificate?

  • Once you have got admission to B.Tech. in a recognized institute then there is no worry about getting a degree once you pass all semester papers in B.Tech. successfully and complete the course within the specified period which is generally 6 years including the arrear clearing extension. The percentage of class 12 is only a qualifying criterion for admission in B.Tech. and has nothing to do with your B.Tech. completion degree issue.

    Knowledge is power.

  • Since you are pursuing your B.Tech from a recognized college and hence nothing is foreseen which could affect your prospects in this curriculum. If the duration of the course is of five years, you have to ensure that no backlog occurs during your session which has not been taken care of. If it occurs at any stage, try your best to clear the same in the next session along with the subjects of the next semester.

Your existing focus should remain on the current studies keeping your worries at bay. Once your clear your degree with impressive marks, you will have a plethora of opportunities.

  • Already you got admission to B.Tech in an autonomous engineering college affiliated with JNTUK. So there is no problem in getting your B.Tech certificate if you clear all the subjects of all 4 years. Your low marks in the intermediate and one-year gap will no way come into the picture in obtaining your B.Tech degree subject. So concentrate on your studies and try to get a good grade in your B.Tech. That will help you in procuring a good job. If you get a low percentage in your B.Tech also, it will become a difficult issue to get a good job. So without worrying about your past, concentrate and come out with flying colours. All the best to you.
