The smaller players in IT education are also ok in their own way

The IITs and the NITs and the IIMs are into the online game. So are some branded Deemed Universities and some private Universities as well. However, these online IT courses do not come cheap. They are very costly and cost at least Rs.50000/-. per course.

This opens up the field for a fairly large number of smaller players in the private sector. These are institutes where the software is mostly pirated or a simplified version of the same is available at somewhat cheaper prices. This game goes on for a while and the number of players in the market keeps on increasing year after year.

I advised one girl who was referred to me to join one such institute which was ok in terms of placement records and had some record of getting some job or the other. The exact thing happened. She joined the institute for a rather reasonably priced course on Cloud Computing. Within 2 years, she has jumped her job and now gets almost Rs.30K in a fairly good IT company.

There does seem to be good scope for such courses and such institutes. Every middle-class family cannot afford to bring in Rs.50K immediately. The girl is saving some money to do some further courses. Since I have so many friends, am trying to find out the best courses she can take up, so that in the near future, she will improve her skill-sets further.

Yes. That is true. There are some small educational institutes to teach some unique skills in the IT sector. This certificate may be an add-on course t their original qualification. Many online teaching institutes are also coming up. The companies are also not looking for the certificate but for the candidate's skill. There is no issue with the institute but with how the candidate performs in the interview or written test. There are many small IT companies and once a candidate put up some service in such an institute he can change to a good company.
My uncle's son after his MCA joined a small company as a software engineer. While working there he obtained two certificates and practised those skills well. With his two-year experience, he could get a good job in a major MNC and he settled in the US. The last time when he visited India he told me that his skills obtained while working helped him in getting that job in a good company.
