Teachers should upgrade themselves at regular intervals

Teachers are the backbones of the society. They are ideal in the society and shape the future of the society. It is very important for teachers to be updated and should learn the new skills needed for the education of the 21st century.

They can learn new skills through online platforms. There are many platforms which conduct online master classes for the teachers. Teachers should attend the training sessions conducted by the Government from time to time.

The International Teacher Olympiad is also a good platform for teachers to upgrade themselves. You can participate in ITO to learn Pedagogical skills which are necessary for a teacher.

That is very true. We are seeing technology is fast developing and many changes are taking place in all fields. So all of us should continue our activity of upgrading ourselves in the areas of our interest and work. This is very important for teachers. New teaching aids are coming and it is no more just delivering a lesson in the class. Audio-visual education, digital technology, the internet etc. are spreading fast in the field of education. Now, this AI is also taking an important role in education.
PowerPoint presentations, virtual models, emails etc. are playing an important role in teaching. Not only that, but also many new discoveries are happening in almost all areas and a teacher should know all these important developments. For this, it is very important for a teacher to get updated regularly. Otherwise, he can't satisfy the students and he may not be able to do justice to his role as a teacher.

The role of teachers has multiplied significantly in the present era unlike the past when the teachers relied heavily on the text books revisions prior to taking up their classes but at present there are multiple sources such as Internet, power point presentations, audio visual techniques etc which could refresh their knowledge to be utilised in their classroom sessions for the benefits of thr students.
There is no scope of complacency that the sources are restricted.
In fact, the shaping up the careers of the students, the teachers need to gear up themselves to meet the aspirations of the pupils..

In earlier times the syllabus was changing after a gap and teachers were managing by teaching the old syllabus for quite some time. It is obvious that at that time teachers did not need much upgradation in terms of increasing their knowledge and skills. But today we are living in a dynamic world where things are changing very fast and new educational schemes are coming up to be implemented and it is very necessary that teachers have to enhance their knowledge and upgrade their skills from time to time in this new scenario.
Continuous upgradation of knowledge is otherwise also in the interest of the teacher because it brings more confidence and other attributes in him which make him a good teacher.
I had an opportunity of working as a teacher in a senior secondary school and at that time I found that there were many concepts which I myself was yearning to get cleared quickly to avoid cutting a sorry figure while satisfying the students and answering their queries.
Upgradation of knowledge and skills of the teachers is an essential element that has to be inculcated in our education system throughout. Many educational institutes are providing trainings to their teachers from time to time to fulfill this purpose.

Now, because of various alternate sources of knowledge enhancing, a student can easily find whether his teacher is having adequate and up-to-date knowledge on the subject he teaches.
Teachers, because of their various responsibilities and handicaps are in a difficulty to find resources and time and even interest to regularly update their knowledge at least on the subjects they teach.
Hence most teachers simply teach what is given in the text books or syllabus. Only a few interested students use library and other online sources to gather some extra and update knowledge in the subject.
