Eligibility

Candidates need to complete their 12th standard from a reputed institute and recognized board with at least 55% marks to become eligible for this course. There is no restriction of subject studies during 12th standard but candidates having exposure or prior knowledge about this field are always preferred.
The minimum and maximum age required varies from one institute to another and need to be checked from the selected institute before submission of application.

Duration

The duration of this course is 3 years. These 3 years are divided into 6 semesters, each having 6 months duration.

Further Study options

Ater completion of this course, candidates interested in higher studies go for Masters Degree course. They have multiple options like M.A. in Broadcast journalism, M.A. in Mass Communication, M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication, M.A. in Media and Communication, etc.
After that Ph.D. or Doctor of Philosophy is an option for candidates having research aptitude.

The course starts with fundamentals of Communication skills, fundamental of computers and fundamentals of Journalism. Then it includes writing for media which involves both theory and practical sessions.
