University Business School, Chandigarh MBA admissions 2021-22


The University Business School(UBS), Chandigarh, has recently released the admission notification to various MBA programs for the session 2021-22. The University Business School (UBS), Chandigarh is one of the leading business schools in Northern India. Started in 1995, the institute is affiliated to Panjab University. UBS has recently released the notice for admission to various management courses for the session 2021-22. The courses include Master of Business Administration (MBA), MBA in International Business, MBA in Human Resource and MBA in Entrepreneurship. The number of seats available for the MBA course is 64, for MBA (International Business) is 30, for MBA (HR) is 30 and for MBA (Entrepreneurship) it is 25. Eligibility

To be eligible for admission to the above-mentioned courses, the following criteria are essential:
  • Candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/BC/PwD) OR He/she should have passed the final examination conducted by the (a) Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England, or (b) Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India or England, or (c) Institute of Company Secretaries of India OR He/she should have cleared AMIE Examination with 50% marks or more after having passed the diploma examination with 60% marks or above and have at least 5 years research/teaching or professional experience.

  • Secondly, the candidate should have scored a minimum of 10% score (5% in case of SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates) in each component of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2020 viz., quantitative, logical, and data interpretation, and verbal and/or any other component which may be added later at any stage to the CAT 2020. Please note that both of these criteria are mandatory.

How to apply

The mode of application for the UBS MBA admissions 2021 is online. However, the completed application form along with the required documents have to be submitted to the address mentioned in the application form. The steps involved in the application process are as follows:

  • First visit the admission portal of UBS. On reaching there, you will first have to click the "Online Registration" button. On the registration page, enter your basic details like name, phone number, email ID, CAT Registration number, etc.

  • After this initial registration is complete, you will be provided with a username and a password. This will help you in proceeding to the next step.

  • In the next step, you have to pay the registration fee of Rs. 3250 (Rs. 1625 for SC/ST/PwD candidates). You can pay using online mode or through the bank challan provided in the portal.

  • After the fee payment is done, the rest of the form has to be completed. The candidate has to submit his/her passport-sized photograph and scanned copy of signature along with academic details and other necessary data.

  • Once the application form is fully completed, take a printout and send it along with the required documents to the address mentioned in the application form.

Selection procedure

Based on the CAT scores, candidates will first be shortlisted and invited to attend the GD (Group Discussion) and the interview. The GD and the Interview will be conducted on the UBS campus at Chandigarh. The schedule for the GD and the Interview will be posted on the UBS admission website and will also be communicated to the selected students through email. After all the stages are completed, the final selection will be done by taking the scores of the CAT exam (85% weightage), the GD (7.5% weightage), and the Interview (7.5% weightage). If there is a tie in the score between two candidates, then the marks in the preceding qualifying exam and the age of the candidate will be taken into consideration to determine the selected candidate. Please remember that all candidates have to clear all the three stages i.e. the CAT exam, the GD, and the Interview.

  • Last date for submission of information in the admission portal to generate bank challan or access payment portal: 1 February, 2021
  • Last date for submission of registration fee: 5 February, 2021
  • Last date for uploading passport photo, signature etc along with other details post payment: 8 February, 2021
  • Last date for submission of hard copies of application form and documents to UBS office: 16 February, 2021
